With all the advancements in digital camera technology, it seems like everyone is becoming a “photographer.” The reality, though, is that the quality of photos you get from one of these individuals is not near that of a professional—and sadly, that has become acceptable because of the convenience. But what if you can have that convenience and comfortable atmosphere while still getting professional photos? You can, with Crystal Newcomb Creative Studios!

Still not convinced? I’ve made a handy list of my finest attributes:

• I spend countless hours fine-tuning my craft.
• I’m an artist first and a photographer second.
• I’m a parent, like you, and I see in children what most people don’t. Plus, I have patience and understanding when it comes to your children and can appreciate a good meltdown.
• My prices are fair.
• I don’t pressure you into choosing only three poses and then force you to order prints solely through me while I inflate the price by 10 percent. Instead, I give you all your images on a disk two to three weeks (or 4-6 for weddings) after your session and offer suggestions on places to order prints.

So yeah, I get it, your cousin just bought a new camera that he knows little about but the picture quality is good (that is why they are so expensive). But if you let him snap your photos instead of coming to Crystal Newcomb Creative Studios, you aren’t guaranteed someone who wants your pictures to turn out just as amazing as you do, let alone someone who can ensure it.

My prices are as follows:

Newborn: I come to your home anytime between birth and 6 weeks to take priceless photos of your new bundle of joy…..$250

Infant/toddler session: I call these my “milestone” sessions. An affordable way to capture all the changes those first 5 years. A 30 minute session with your child (6 weeks all the way up to age 5) at a location of your choice in Des Moines…..$100

Senior portraits: My senior package includes unlimited outfit changes and up to two hours and two locations…..$350

Any other photo occasion (engagement, family, siblings…): This is my catch all. I’ve been contacted to do all sorts of different sessions. I’m up for just about anything. 1 hour session…….$200

Weddings: I currently offer 2 wedding packages.
Package A {$1200}: Before portraits (including family), details, ceremony, reception. 4-6 hours.
Package B {$1500}: Anything and nearly everything. Getting ready all the way until the couple’s first dance. My assistant and I will capture the entire day! Up to 8 hours.
$500 deposit due at time of scheduling. Remainder due 2 weeks before wedding.

All packages include my time and talent along with the editing and color correcting of your photos. I do obvious blemish touch-ups off the bat with further corrections at an additional charge of $5 per photo.

Most sessions yield anywhere from 20-25 photos with the exception of the milestone sessions (those are so quick and often times cut short due to cranky babies but you are guaranteed 10 images) and weddings (you get quite a few….to put it lightly).
